There are all levels of difficulty of walks in the area, ranging from easy forest walks for families with children to the full on Munro for the more adventurous. The view from the cottage is dominated by Munro#85 Glas Leathad Mor - Ben Wyvis, altitude 1046metres and there are another 283 Munros to be bagged. For more information go to http://www.munromagic.com or http://walking.visitscotland.com/munros Within Inverness there is a network of paths to enable walkers and cyclists to explore the city including an Historic Trail and Riverside walks. The Kessock Coastal route which is 9.5km long provides views of the city and the two Firths from the bridge. This is the gateway to the path networks on the Black Isle. The Forestry Commission have created many pleasant walks within forests in the area including locally Culbokie Wood on the outskirts of Culbokie and Monadh Mor, on the A835 Conon Bridge - Tore road. These walks and many more are shown on the Ordnance Survey Map 26 - Inverness & Loch Ness ( Strathglass ) which covers this area. |
